Creative Curriculum

Our curriculum has been adapted from "The Creative Curriculum." It operates on the belief that the child learns best by doing. It encourages preschool children to learn and explore through use of their senses, such as, touching, tasting, smelling, listening, and looking.

We use materials such as blocks to help the children learn about size, shape, and color. After learning these basic concepts, we teach the children words and numbers, which are more abstract. The curriculum's goal is to teach children how to learn, giving them a valuable tool for success in their later years as well. This curriculum encourages children to be independent, self-confident, and inquisitive individuals.

We also use the Illinois Early Learning Standards and benchmarks for a well rounded curriculum.  Periodically we will invite other educators
into our program to provide each child even more learning experiences, to enhance our program further.  Each child is encouraged to develop at his or her own pace.
